Water Block Four is made up of 9 pieces. This block is the first block
of row three. The block consists of water, with two reeds passing through it. One reed appears to cross over the other.
The reed that is behind continues up into water block 2, so be sure you use the same color. Careful sewing is crucial,
because the reed of this block must match up precisely to the reed in water block 2.

NOTE ABOUT PRINTING: Be sure your printer is set to print at 100%. If "Shrink to fit" or "Fit to page" etc. is selected,
YOUR PATTERN PIECES WILL NOT PRINT TO THE CORRECT SIZE. Every pattern page lists one or more dimensions.
CHECK YOUR PRINTED PATTERN FOR ACCURACY OF SIZE.

1. Lay out fabric pieces (figure 1).

2. Stitch Piece A to Piece B (figure 2)
3. Stitch Piece B to Piece C

4. Stitch Piece D to Piece I.
Then stitch that section to Piece E (figure 4).
5. Stitch Piece D-E to Piece F (figure 5).

6. Stitch Piece G to Piece H.
(figure 6).

7. Stitch Section G-H to Piece F (figure 7).

8. Stitch the two halves together. A-B-C makes up one half; the other pieces form the other half.
(figure 8).
When finished, use your quilter's square to square up the block. It should measure 6.5" wide by 8.5" tall.
